I eventually stopped going and was surprised when someone told me it was now an AMC. We were probably the last people on earth to see it. The AMC Pompano was the only theater we could still find it playing at. Even better I had enough rewards to pay for them. The outside looked kind of shabby from where they had torn everything down and the ground was dirty.

Inside the theater it looked nice and newly renovated. The seats in the theater were brand spanking new and they reclined. They were even heated so no more freezing in too cold air conditioning. The heat was actually nice on my back. The aisles between the seats were roomy so you could leave the theater during the movie without disturbing anyone too much.

The problem came when the movie started and there was something wrong with the screen. If the screen was bright you could see a kind of glare on it that was very distracting during the movie. During the renovation they added a Prime theater with Dolby Vision which uses a double 4k laser projectors that can achieve million to one contrast ratio. The premium reclining seats also rumble in sync with the movie.

Besides the Prime some movies are shown in real 3D. Now that this theater is an AMC with reclining seats I will be back. They is a PDQ in the same plaza for cheap eats and a lot of other dining options in the area. See all photos from Ariel W.

It was a disappointment all around. Half of the menu at the concessions was unavailable. I ended up getting popcorn that was a bit stale and tried to add butter to it. I attempted at 2 butter machines and they were out. The third one had butter but tasted like rancid oil. Will not be back. This used to be a Muvico location and it was purchased by AMC. The entire complex has been remodeled and updated. The theatres have reserved seating with power recline and are super comfortable.

The concession stand is nice and they have one size soda and popcorn, all you can eat and drink, which is a bit pricey. I swear! The seats are great, but the fact that almost everything on the menu for food is unavailable is unacceptable. Concession staff is pretty much rude. There is an AMC closer to my home, which has worse seats, but at least they keep the food on the menu. How can you not have chicken tenders? Alcohol stops being served at 10 so does the popcorn.

If your showing movies after 10 everything should be open, period. They are the own worst enemy right now. I was here 3 days earlier to watch black widow and all they had was pizza, mozzarella sticks and curly fries. Get your act together or expect revenue to shrink like your menu options. One advantage of this theater is the convenient location. For a quick bite to eat, I recommend the cafe at Whole Foods right next door. Since Amazon and Jeff Bezos took over their prices are no longer 4 times what they should be, just twice what they should be.

Normally there are the high-tech seats AMC is upgrading to in all their theaters. On this particular trip, my assigned seat in a packed theater was stuck in a strange awkward angle with the electric adjustments not working. It used to be called Muvico and the theater is a little old-fashioned. However the seating was quite comfortable.

Although, getting in and out of your seat was a challenge. The screen was very clear and wonderful to look at. The movie I saw was called, "Dog Days". It was a very entertaining movie. I was so glad I went. It had a happy ending and nobody was murdered! I enjoyed the entire movie experience. It was really great, other than idiotic children laughing and talking at inappropriate times during the movie.

Overall, this was a really nice, well-run theater. I loved it! This theater used to be a Muvico and has recently been remodeled under AMC. I believe all auditoriums at this AMC location have reclining seats. The prime theater is more of the "luxury" auditorium. The picture and sound quality of the prime auditorium is superb!
